Weather Modification Operation
Rain Where It Is Needed
Weather modification — cloud seeding — is a practical tool for managing rainfall: filling reservoirs, easing drought, and suppressing the haze that comes with land and forest fires. Our aircraft carry seeding agents to targeted cloud formations, encouraging rain to fall where and when it is needed most.
Each operation is planned around meteorological data and flown in coordination with the agencies directing the programme, targeting specific cloud systems at the altitudes and times where seeding is effective.
These missions are flown in support of government and disaster-management programmes, from water-supply support through to haze mitigation during the dry season, with sortie patterns adjusted as conditions shift over the course of an operation.
